Established in 1997, Maskimi Polyol Sdn. Bhd. ("Maskimi"), a subsidiary of Bina Puri Holdings Berhad, is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing and marketing Natural Oil Polyol ("NOP") and NOP based Polyurethane systems, as well as providing necessary information and technical assistance to the satisfaction of its customers. The Company plant with an investment of RM 12 million is located at Kajang, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia and equipped with a capacity to produce 60 metric tonnes of NOP per day.
With the proximity and abundant supply of Palm Kernel Oil in Malaysia, coupled with Maskimi's innovative technology, the Company is able to produce environmentally friendly NOP based Polyurethane foam systems in contrary to conventional polyols which are mostly petrochemical based products. In fact, Maskimi is the first NOP producer in South East Asia who has successfully marketed its products on a commercial scale. Over the years,
Since 1997, Maskimi's NOP based Polyurethane foam system had established itself in the rigid foam industry where Polyurethane foam is the main material for refrigeration, construction, insulation panels, sprayfoam, pre-fabricated lightweight roofing, decorative/structural foam, blockfoam, pipe insulation, marine, adhesive, elastomer, structural furniture parts, car bumper insert, florist foam and other industrial applications.
The Company's sales had expanded .rapidly since it began operation in 1997. Today, apart from serving the local rigid foam market, Maskimi has also exported its products to various countries including Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, China and the middle East.
The success of the Company stems from its ability to customize to exact end user specification, prompt technical support, short delivery lead-time, and assurance of continuous supply and delivery of exact end user requirements in smaller quantities. In addition, the efficient management and logistic system of Maskimi have resulted in time and cost savings, which in turn are passed on to the customers in the form of more competitive pricing. By using the state- of-art technology and precise quality controls, coupled with technical collaboration, with our local research institute, University of Malaya, Maskimi is always poised to respond swiftly to meet customer changing needs and demands.
To
ensure continued growth, Maskimi emphasizes on research and development
activities to improve its formulas and develop new grades of NOP for new
applications. The Company is optimistic that its NOP products will have
long term competitive advantage over its conventional counterparts which
are derived from increasingly scarce resources. Its vision is to make
Malaysia the technology hub for the region in NOP production.
